Abstract Background Mucoadhesive polymers are applicable for improving the delivery of drug by prolonging residence time and contact dosage form with mucous membrane. Mucoadhesion may be defined as a process where polymer substance gets adhered either to biological substrate or synthetic natural macromolecule, mucus The can studied determine whether they possess some mucoadhesive properties several excipients derived from plants have proved their potential in field conventional novel form. present work aims at determination physical polysaccharides fruit pulp Ziziphus mauritiana L. (ZM gum) Artocarpus heterophyllus (AH gum), such strength (shear stress determination), swelling index, pH, viscosity, angle repose, Carr’s density, its comparative study Carbopol 934 HPMC also FTIR 1H-NMR spectra analysis. Result most important ZM gum (3% w/v) AH (3%) was found comparable w/v); also, index isolated gums were both 934. Falling sphere method is conducted which taken move 50 divisions bottom 3% w/v solution 10.14 s 10.13 & 1H NMR showed typical characteristic signals presence sugar residues. Conclusion From study, it concluded that has better than respect replace polysaccharides.
